Let’s start with some history..

It’s about 10 years ago when people started blogging. People wrote about what they like in their blogs. Some people also started blogs to connect with their family and relatives. And from 2004 onwards blogs of every type started to hit the internet. The popular niches among all are: Technology, Blogging, Entertainment, Personality Development etc…

Different sources provide different numbers but according to Wikipedia, as of 16 February 2011, there were over 156 million public blogs in existence. And now the figure may have crossed a billion too.

Why so many number of blogs are present?

Simple answer is: Many bloggers resulted in many blogs. New ones learn how to blog and start a blog because they get interested in blogging. Why? Because blogs help in earning dollars? Yup. Blogs help in earning money; but if you are thinking to make money from the day you start blogging than I’m sorry, you can’t earn much money from blogging without working hard for a year. Pro-bloggers like Daren Rowse & Glen Allsopp earn 6-figure income from their blog; but to earn that they have done a lot of hard work. You too can start a blog but you have to work. Blogging not only gives money but also makes our identity in the internet.

Where can I create a blog?

An easy answer for a newbie question: You can learn how to blog and can also start a blog very easily. There are many websites which provides free space to make a blog. You can make a blog in any of Blogger, WordPress. There are even more sites like these. The most popular among all are WordPress & Blogger.

I want to make a blog now…

I’ll recommend Blogger.com to the newbies as it’s easy and comfortable. After some months you can easily switch to wordpress.

How To Make a blog in Blogger?

1. Go to blogger.com
2. Create a Google account if you don’t have one. And if you already have a Gmail account then just login to blogger.
3. Now create a blog, give it a name. You will get a blog with the address format: name.blogspot.com.
4. Go to posts, click on “create new post” & start blogging.

How To Make a blog in WordPress?

1. Go to wordpress.com
2. Create an account there with your email id and select a blog name. You will get a blog with the address format: name.wordpress.com.
3. Confirm the account by logging in to your mail inbox.
4. Log in to WordPress with your login details.
5. Go to posts, click on “add new post” and start blogging.

Why develop a blog?

Making a blog is a very easy work, anyone can do it. So try to develop it in order to stand out in the crowd.

To develop your blog you’ve to follow these basic tips:

1. Be Original with your writing. And, always avoid Plagiarism.

Always write of your own and try to impress your readers. Never copy others hard work. Originality will help you in getting good reputation and will also help you in earning money from your blog.

2. Provide useful and unique information to your blog readers.

Always blog about important things and help your readers. If you’re going to produce content on blogging, then be good with it. Try to provide each and every tip in it. Also be unique with your writing and provide solid info.

3. Don’t publish spammy and low quality content in your blog.

You may know many things, but if you don’t want to share everything at a time then it will be very bad for your blog. Never make your readers to hunt for the same content in other blogs. Try to provide the full information of a certain topic in the same post. Now, if I would have made two posts of this very post; one would have described- how to make a blog & the other would have discussed about developing it, then? Yah! It would have made me a lot of page views but this method would not help me to get good reputation. Search engines (like Google.com where readers search there need) may think these types of work spammy or low quality and may lower page ranks.

4. Be professional with your writing and proofread your articles.

Whatever you write, write in a professional way. Never repeat same sentences again and again. Don’t add unnecessary things as they make readers bore. Always proofread your articles in order to correct spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
