Apple’s Middle finger: It’s Pointed at You

Let’s get this clear right off the start: Apple makes some absolutely fantastic products. The issue is not with the quality of their products, but the attitude and manner in which the company operates.
They are giving their customers the middle finger, and for some reason the customers are thanking them for it.
I make the argument that it doesn’t have to be this way. If we want Apple to stop treating their customers with disrespect, we need to stop praising them for doing so. Stop regurgitating their slogans, such as “it just works”. If it “just worked” there wouldn’t be over 300,000 Google results when searching for “Apple repairs”.
Apple makes luxury products. They are built to last for only a short time and cost more than they should. This is okay, but it’s not okay to look down on someone, simply because they have chosen not to buy Apple. I can’t say this enough times: The photo, webpage, video or song you’re working on has no idea what brand-name your computer is.

  1. Most of these points are simply sound business decisions by apple. They are first and foremost a business, whose number one goal is to make a profit. Apple doesn't have a team of people sitting around trying to think up the best way to screw over its customers, they simply employ practices that they hope will earn apple more money...and it works. If all of the points in this article were so terrible people would stop purchasing apple products, which would lead to decreased sales and profits and perhaps cause apple to rectify some of their practices that are losing them business. However people don't care about the points made above, at least not enough to stop many of them from purchasing apple products, so really the problem (if there is even a problem) is the customer. Don't blame apple for having one of the best business models around that consistently earns them hundreds of billions of dollars every year.

    1. Yours is the best comment I've ever read about this issue, PC vs. MAC. I'll quote you: "...so really the problem (if there is even a problem) is the customer." You nailed it.
I'll post this article translated to spanish in my blog and I'd like to copy your comment, also translated below it, if you don't mind.

PS. I'm a PC user since early 90's till now. I've used a Mac once for work and I've tried the new models as often I could. Never seen the great adventages, besides it's snob design. The only big difference, at least in my country (Argentina) is it's stiff price.
